Hi Everybody, Anna here. I don't know about you, but I am not ready for this heat. I love Springtime and the sun, but when it starts turning to 100 degree weather, not so much. This Memorial Day weekend is going to be pretty close. The only good thing about the heat is, gardens love it! Our plants are really growing and looking great. Just like last year our plants have begun to flower too early. They must have been getting a lot more sun where they were being grown before we purchased them. That will throw them into early flower. We had the same thing happen last year. The buds are already looking beautiful, and pretty good size. They are really supposed to bud when the days get shorter and the weather is cooler. At some point, we will trim these buds off before they start to dry out. They will flower again starting in about mid August. We will harvest around the end of October to mid November. This early flower shouldn't make too big of an effect on them. Last year we planted later had this early bloom and still ended up with almost 2 lbs of flower at the end. Not to bad for all the effort our plants gave. The area of our grow doesn't get 12 hours of sun which is optimal for the best harvest. Our little garden gets about 6 hours of full sun with the rest being filtered, but we've still had good success. I try to pick strains that are easy to moderate to grow and pest resistant. We have to remember, they are a weed, but with all the genetics some of these plants are really particular. I will add some pictures at the end of the post so you can see the flowers that are developing. We have our whole garden on a drip system. They sometimes get too much water if it rains and I forget to turn off the system. Luckily, they are pretty tolerant of our mistakes. Our plants are strictly for personal use, and for me the easier the better. My hubby does all the defoliating and fertilizing. He trims the fan leaves as they block new growth. He's a little zealous if you ask me. I like to let them grow wild. But that's how we do it and it works. We are not experts by any means and just grow using the trial and error method, with most of it being error. Lol. Its really a lot of fun. A fun fact: Our dog lovvvvves eating those leaves that get plucked off! He waits patiently as Steve does his trimming. He knows better than to try to get his own off the plants, but he just loves those leaves! So if you do grow any, keep an eye out your dog might want to eat the leaves as well.
For my birthday I was thrilled to get some tools that I have been wanting for quite a while. The first thing I got was a distiller. Its a water distiller, but will actually seperate the alcohol from your tincture if you make your medicine that way. I'm not going to go into details here, but alcohol tinctures are very versitile and useful when making medicine. The only drawback is one quart of the culinary alcohol cost 60.00 or more. With this distiller I am able to recover about 95 percent of my alcohol to reuse again. Without the distiller, there was no alcohol left to reuse. For a 100 dollar investment I will be able to use that one quart of alcohol at least another 8 times which will save a boat load of money. I love gadgets! I will go into more detail about how to use a water distiller in a future class. I also got an induction cooktop. This is so important when you are heating alcohol. Remember, no open flames and working outside. So this small cooktop is just the thing to cook down and evaporate all the alcohol out of your infusion. Don't try this without clear instructions and understanding how to do this safely. More on that later. Can't wait to show you these items and more during our classes.
You are receiving this newsletter because you joined our club. Our club is all about learning and education. Everything I teach can be used with CBD or THC flowers. During the class I generally refer to CBD. I’m not encouraging people to get high or loaded, but rather to learn how to make your own medicine. If you are like me, you probably have some sort of aches or pains, anxiety or some other ailment that just doesn’t seem to get resolved. I’m not here to give medical advice or tell you to stop taking your medicine. I would just like to educate you about your endocannabinoid system and how you can get it back in balance. Remember there are 14 class modules and each one kind of builds on the next. The classes are about an hour each. I have a lot of information to share and would love for you to start this new cohort, class #3. If you think this is something you would enjoy, click on the form I posted in our group last week. Once I get your info, I will let you know where the meeting will be and the time. This is for women only although we have had some men sign up. I think sometimes we need to take control of our health on our own. If you have a male that would be interested, we can put it to a vote. I do supply light refreshments during the meeting and it's a really nice group to get to know each other and share insights. I also have samples at some of the meetings of whatever we are making. I prefer that everyone take it home to sample and always follow directions. Start low and go slow. If you have any questions you can either post it on our group site, or text me: 559-904-6135 Don’t forget our site is private, so people shouldn’t be able to see our posts. We can see each other in the group though. Well, I hope to see some of you at our next meeting June 10th 6pm. This will be the first class, Cannabis 101.
Hope to talk to you soon,
Anna

Barely getting these plants in the ground.
by Anna Lane on April 20,2026
I purposely wrote this newsletter on 4/20, the day that celebrates all things Cannabis related. If you are a consumer, I am sure you are aware of the sales that have been going on for the last month and really taking off today! Most of my favorite online suppliers have massive 40-50% off. I am not shopping this year. I have a lot of flower left and a lot of flower from harvesting in Oct/Nov. There are lots of good deals, but remember to check for lab results and don’t by synthetic anything. Happy shopping!.
If you noticed my picture from above, you can see that we just put our plants in last weekend. Well, I guess you can’t “see” that we just planted them, but we did. Usually planting is Feb/Mar for us, but we couldn’t decide if we really needed to. We didn’t really need to, but it’s so exciting to see how well your plants do, how big of a crop you get and was this strain pretty easy to grow or really hard to grow. The size of the plants might surprise you. If you look closely you can see that they are not the typical plants you would get at a dispensary. I’ve been ordering from Clone Conservatory for the last five years, and I have never been disappointed. We started out buying what they have listed as clones, which are wonderful. Later, we found out that they have “teens” which are older clones, more mature plants that are well on their way to a beautiful crop. These plants were planted at 1 1/2 - 2 ft tall . That is a great start! When I grow plants, they have THC. I use these flowers in my salves that are 50% CBD and 50% THC. This year I got 1 Gelato 33 and 1 Gorilla Glue. When I shop for plants, I research their hardiness, crop size, and pest resistance. I also look at how easy they are to grow. Some plants don’t like our hot summers. Even though I research carefully I still end up with a princess plant every once in a while. Last year we had one (we bought 3 at the dispensary) that no matter what we did for it, it just wouldn’t thrive. When we harvested, our other two plants were 5-6 feet tall and the princess was maybe a foot. You can’t win them all. Anyway if you are still looking for plants text 1=424-452-9551 Clone Conservatory and they will text you back. Ask for a list of plants, where is the nearest pickup near you and then do some research before you order. We met them on Shaw and 99 in Fresno along with a dozen or so other happy gardeners. Really, everybody looked so happy…..

April is just around the corner and I have a lot of goals I want to get accomplished this year. My first goal is to get new members for CVWCC. I am going to start posting and use local groups to get the word out. I have so much knowledge to share and I would love to be able to share what I've learned in my studies and share my experience. I purposely made this a club for only women, because when I was taking my classes I had people that didn't take me serious. I am dead serious! Cannabis is a great medicinal plant and the more people know and learn about it, the better off everyone will be. I'm looking forward to sharing and maybe learning something from you as well. That's it for now. Anna

The end of 2025 was quite the world wind for me. In the last half of July I was diagnosed with uterine cancer. It was hard for me to comprehend and I really felt like I was in someone elses nightmare. The next few months were a full schedule of appointments and tests. I have to say with all this going on, my doctors were on top of it. In September my doctor told me she was confident that the cancer was found early and although my uterus would have to come out, the outcome should be positive. My surgery was scheduled for October in Santa Clara and I have to say, I had the best team taking care of me. It took me a few weeks to feel pretty normal and about four more to heal up. I think that surgery was the best thing to ever happen to me. I didn't realize how rotten I was feeling. I've felt great ever since and I don't have any worries about it returning. I will have a follow up in a couple of months, and I have a positive vibe about it. Well, now that you know whats been going on with me, lets talk about cannabis. While I was recovering, my husband harvested our plants. I was so happy that he was keeping an eye on them, but disappointed I wasn't able to get out there and check the trichomes and such myself. I've always enjoyed going out each day and inspecting each plant. He harvested, hung them to dry and I trimmed and bagged them. It was wonderful. Now we have plenty of product to make plant medicine. We only had two plants this year, we bought three, but one just didn't take off. With that said we got a lot of bud. I really want to get this club going this year. Have some meetings and get some classes going. Just a reminder that these meetings are for women only. Nothing against men, lol, but sometimes we need to have a space where we can learn and grow. If you are local, Fresno, Ca, sign up for our meeting. Till next time, Anna
July 2025 News Letter
July has been a very busy month. Two of my decarb machines died on me, its been difficult to make products on a regular basis. My new Ardent FX should be arriving soon. That will get everything going again. If you haven't tried the Ardent FX your missing out. Its so easy to use. It has two cycles, one for CBD and the other for THC. It decarbs, infuses and bakes and it is a nice large size for those of use that like to make larger batches. It also has minimal moving parts, so you don't have to worry about the door breaking. I've used 4 different types of infusers and have found the Ardent products to be the best bang for your buck. If you would like to see how this machine works and learn about preparing cannabis a variety of ways, sign up for one of my classes. Or better yet sign up for all of them. I have a lot of knowledge to share and love sharing recipes . If your interested in making your own medicine, please contact me. There is an area below to sign up. The next date will be middle of August .

January has been the month for getting organized. I not only teach these cannabis classes but I spend a lot of my time making soap and other products. My husband built me a soap studio a few years back to help with storage of all the supples. I was having a difficult time finding my supplies, since I hadn't organized it very well in the first place. This month I literally took everything out, organized and labeled everything. What a difference. Its amazing what a little work can accomplish. I'm anxious to get the cannabis classes going for this year. I have a lot of knowledge to share. If your interested in making your own medicine, please contact me. There is an area below to sign up. The next date will be mid to late February.

May has been very productive. I'm teaching the clinical portion of a CNA class part-time and really enjoying it. We were supposed to end on May 17th, but the facility is having its annual survey this week, so our class will continue and finish next week. Mid April we purchased 4 clones. 2 San Fernando Valley, 1 Kush, and a Citrus Gelato. So far, they look pretty good. We have been growing for 3 years now, and each year the crop is a little better. I still have some herb from last years crop, so I am able to use that in some of the salves and oils I make. If your interested in making your own medicine, please contact me. I have planned many classes, with only a few people showing up. There is an area below to sign up. The next date will be mid June.

July has really been speeding by! In June I retired from my job of 20 years, and it's been a whirlwind of vacations and learning how to relax. We visited the kids and grandkids, not to mention family in Oklahoma. It was a wonderful trip, but I'm glad to be home. I'm anxious to get back in the groove of creating and teaching. With that being said, this months topic is fairly basic, "What is CBD and how does it differ from THC?"
Whether you are new to cannabis or a longtime consumer, it seems there is always something to learn. There is so much research being done that more and more cannabinoids are being discovered all the time.
Meanwhile the Healing Salves have been selling like crazy. Thank you to all who support my efforts to make a pain relief salve that works. I've been working on the recipe for a long time and I think I will stick with the two final recipes.
I also made some RSO (Rick Simpson Oil). I probably didn't get the full extraction, but I still think it will be pretty potent. I used the Horchata flower we grew in our last grow and some good brandy. I need to figure out the dosage and get it labeled. I bought some of those little syringes, (no needle) that the RSO comes in from the dispensaries and they look professional. Hit me up if you would like to sample it. My next batch will use Everclear. I should get a much stronger extraction.
Regarding the classes, they will resume in July. I hope to see you there. I am trying to find a nice place to hold the meetings so we can have a larger group. If you have any ideas, let me know and I will check it out.
Well that's all for now, Contact me if you have any comments or questions.

June is upon us! Its hard to believe that 3 months have gone by since I started putting this website together. School is about to let out and we will take an adventure to see our grandkids that live in Tennessee. I can't imagine how much they have grown in this last year and a half. I know we will be able to make up for some lost time.
